About this cabin
Cabin 2 is one of the closest cabin rentals to Garden of the Gods at Shawnee National Forest in Herod, IL — and one of the few where your dog is genuinely welcome. It's a one-bedroom cabin designed for a couple or small family that wants a little comfort and a lot of nature.
Inside, a queen bed and leather queen sleeper sofa sleep four comfortably (though this cabin is not recommended for four adults). A warm and inviting fireplace, Smart TV with Roku, and high-speed WiFi make staying in easy when you're not on the trails. The full kitchen handles simple cooking, and the private hot tub is waiting just outside when the day is done.
An EV charger on site and a fire pit with complimentary wood round out the experience. Bring the dog — just let us know in advance.
